Rumors: 2013 Nissan GT-R May get up to 570HP and Updates to the Transmission and Suspension

[2012MY Nissan GT-R pictured above]

Like Porsche, when it comes to its sports cars, Nissan's engineers follow a process of steady and constant evolution. We've seen this approach in the past with the older Skyline GT-R models, and we're seeing it now with the new GT-R.

Ever since Nissan presented the new global GT-R in 2007, the Japanese firm has been constantly refining its flagship model on an annual basis.

Now, following last year's model changes, which among other things, lifted the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine's output from 485HP to 530HP, the team over at NAGTROC forums is reporting that Nissan is already working on the 2013MY GT-R.

Subaru BRZ Concept Rumored to Debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show

If we are to believe to a new report from Car&Driver - and we have no reason not to, Subaru will finally lift the veil off a concept version of the BRZ sports coupe with actual sheetmetal at the upcoming 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November.

And unlike the BRZ's sister model from Toyota, Subaru won't be showing another concept as both the BRZ and FT-86 (we're still not sure about the name), will be making their world premiere in final production trim at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show in December.

Fresh Spy Shots of Lexus LS TMG Edition and New Spec Sheet that Says it gets 650-Horses

The veil of secrecy surrounding the super Lexus LS that we captured testing on the Nürburgring racetrack last week has started to fall apart.

Today, along with a fresh batch of scoop pictures of the hotted up LS, our spy photographers also sent us a shot of a spec sheet that's been circulating on the internet and which we were also informed about from the guys over at the Clublexus fan site.

Here's what Mike from ClubLexus told autoscardesign:

"We had an insider at the old F1 Toyota facility snap photos of this LS and what looked like a modified LFA GT2 with BBS wheels, widened fenders....they snapped photos of the specs for the LS...it stated 650hp at 9,000 RPM with 20" wheels. Within hours of the pics posted, we got a message from Toyota to take the pics down, which we did."

Rumors: New Lexus LFA Special coming to Tokyo Show while Toyota is Working on a Supra Successor

After losing ground globally to its main competitors, Toyota is on the offensive again. Not only are its plants starting to operate near their maximum capacity, it has also formulated a new strategy to recover as quickly as possible.

However, bread-and-butter models are not the only vehicles the Japanese automaker has in store for us. According to CAR Magazine, Lexus will launch a Tokyo Motor Show Edition of its LFA supercar at its home motor show in autumn.

Classic Japanese Cars at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show

Together with their new production cars and concept studies, some domestic automakers also brought along with them a handful of Japanese classics to display at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show floors. First up is the 1980 Mazda Familia hatchback which was essentially the Mazda3's forefather. Toyota had a 1981 Toyota Soarer Coupe and the GT HYBD, a gas-turbine hybrid concept version of its first production sports car, the Sports 800 that went on sale in 1965.

Mazda displayed the 1970 500cc rotary-powered RX-500 Concept while Mitsubishi exhibited Japan's first series production automobile, the 1917 A Model which was based on the Fiat Tipo 3. Finally, Honda showed off a first generation (1976-1981) Honda Accord CVCC three-door hatchback.

Tokyo '09: Daihatsu Shows its More Feminine Side with Mira Cocoa

As if Toyota's affiliate Daihatsu wasn't enough unpopular with male consumers, the company that is known for the most part for its small kei- and city- cars introduced the Mira Cocoa at the 2009 Tokyo Show. The delightfully tiny hatch targets female buyers with its near cartoonish appearance inside and out. It is powered by a 0.6-liter three-cylinder engine that makes 58 horsepower and is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations with price in Japan starting from 1 million yen or about $10,900 USD.
